    A whole tone: C to D. The plain step every scale is built from.도에서 레까지. 모든 음계를 이루는 가장 기본적인 한 걸음입니다.

  2. On: whole온, 온전한

    In Korean, on means whole. No half measures: a full sound, and an hour used in full.우리말 ‘온’은 온전하다는 뜻입니다. 반쪽짜리가 아닌 소리, 빠짐없이 채운 한 시간.

  3. One whole step at a time.한 걸음씩, 온전하게.

A weekly hour at a real piano, with someone close enough to see your hands. 진짜 피아노 앞에서 보내는 주 1회 한 시간. 손이 보이는 거리에서 가르칩니다.

Lessons run on a Yamaha U1 upright — the same kind of instrument an AMEB exam is played on — so the touch a student practises on is the touch they'll meet on the day. The room is a quiet one on a high floor, with the park in the windows. 레슨은 야마하 U1 업라이트에서 진행합니다. AMEB 시험을 치는 것과 같은 악기라, 연습하던 터치 그대로 시험장에서 칠 수 있습니다. 창밖으로 공원이 내려다보이는 고층의 조용한 방입니다.

Ages 4 and up · one hour weekly만 4세부터 · 주 1회 60분

An hour is never an hour of scales. Four and five-year-olds work in three parts — twenty minutes at the piano, twenty on theory at the table, twenty back at the piano — so the concentration resets twice before it runs out. 한 시간 내내 건반만 치지 않습니다. 만 4~5세는 세 토막으로 나눠 진행해요. 피아노 20분, 책상에서 이론 20분, 다시 피아노 20분. 집중력이 바닥나기 전에 두 번 환기됩니다.

AMEB PathwayAMEB 시험 과정

One to one · one hour weekly1:1 · 주 1회 60분

Exam preparation is taught one to one — a student moves out of a shared hour once they start working toward a grade. Repertoire is chosen to suit them, and every week keeps time for the parts everyone leaves until the last month. 시험 준비는 1:1로 진행합니다. 급수를 목표로 하기 시작하면 2인 세션에서 1:1로 옮깁니다. 학생에게 맞는 곡을 고르고, 다들 시험 직전까지 미루는 영역을 매주 연습합니다.

We enter an exam when the lesson says it's time, not when the calendar does. 시험 응시는 달력이 아니라 수업이 준비됐다고 말할 때 함께 결정합니다.

How the teaching works가르치는 방식

One teacher, every lesson. The same person who hears a student's first scale is the one who takes them into the exam room, so nothing is lost between terms. Lessons are taught in English or Korean, whichever the student thinks in. 모든 수업을 한 선생님이 맡습니다. 첫 스케일을 들은 사람이 시험장까지 함께 가기 때문에, 학기가 바뀌어도 이어지는 것이 끊기지 않습니다. 수업은 학생이 생각하는 언어에 맞춰 영어나 한국어로 진행합니다.
